People desperate for treatment have been transferred to a 1,000-bed hospital in Wuhan.
Huoshenshan Hospital was built in ten days as part of China's efforts to prevent the spread of a new virus.
More than 7,500 labourers worked around the clock to construct the hospital and a second specialised coronavirus hospital will also be taking patients.
In the meantime, two exhibition centres and a stadium have been converted into temporary hospitals.
The deadly coronavirus has already killed hundreds of people and infecting thousands, most from Hubei province.
