A film about a the transformation of a small London tea cafe into a French Restaurant.

We see various shots of the small tea shop. elderly women sit at the table drinking tea and chatting. The women stand up and leave. At 6.00 p.m. the transformation takes place. Table cloths are removed, the paintings from the walls taken away, to be replaced by a more French feel. There are now candlesticks and serviettes on the tables.

We see shots of people reading menus, and later eating snails. A waiter pours brandy into a frying pan over a burning flame and shakes the pan as the customers wait patiently.

Final shot of a Gendarme outside the restaurant he salutes a man as he walks into the restaurant, and is that Maigret himself we see smoking pipe at the end of the film!?.
