Rome, Italy.

M/S of a Pan Am aeroplane in flight; aerial shot looking down on the Coliseum. Aerial shot of the Vatican, St Peter's Cathedral and Square; several shots from the ground of the same; nuns walk across the square; St Peter's and Castel Angelo; the River Tiber. Various shots taken from a moving car as we drive around Rome.

Several shots of tourists; they get off a coach and eat ice-creams, then mill about and look at various ruins: Vestale Temple, Forum, Palatino Hill. Several shots from a moving car; Vittorio Emmanuel memorial; Capitolino Museum; the City Wall; the pyramid that points to the spot where St Paul was hanged and martyred; more shots of the memorial church, St Paul's-outside-the-walls.

Various shots of the Trevi Fountain; tourists sitting with their feet in the water. Several other fountains in the city are seen. American sailors (white uniforms) look at the Coliseum; several more shots of various sections of the Coliseum; nice exterior shots. Tracking shot across the Circus Maximus and Palatine Ruins, Constantine's Arch; a mini in the foreground.

A girl gets into a horse-drawn open carriage and takes a ride through the Villa Borghesi. We pass a statue of Goethe. Several shots of the Via Veneto at night; neon lights (elegant rather than flashing ritzy ones); people sitting at civilised pavement cafes / restaurants, watching the world go by.

I want to go there - pronto! Cuts exist - see separate records.
