The Sundarban-10 launch service was opened for public in the Dhaka-Barisal river route back in June 25. It has become an instant hit with people who want to make their nine-hour journey to Barisal from Dhaka and vice versa as relaxing as possible.
Run by the Sundarban Navigation Company, this 16000 sqft launch was built locally with German engine. It took three years to build it, according to the company.
This launch can accommodate 1,300 passengers and it hosts a food court, VIP-duplex business class cabins and is equipped with radar, global positioning system and electro hydraulic system. This vessel can navigate through heavy fog, says its owner Saidur Rahaman Rintu.
