If watching TV was an Olympic sport, Roy Knable (the late, great John Ritter) would take home the gold. His obsessive TV habits have gotten so bad, his long-suffering wife Helen (Pam Dauber) can't take it, and neither can their children (David Tom and Heather McComb). Then again, how else can you escape from your wife's advancement up the ladder while you're stuck in a "suck job" selling plumbing equipment? One night, a mysterious figure by the name of Spike (Jeffrey Jones) shows up at the Knable household and gives Roy the escape he's been waiting for - a full-on big screen TV and a satellite system with 666 channels of programming other cable providers don't show. WAAAAAIIIIIT.... 666 channels? Does that sound odd to you?
