The maker of an upcoming spy game called Gunpoint recently posted an open call for composers to take a shot at adding music to the latest trailer. Gunpoint is set in the near future, but has a lot of noir influences, so in my entry, I used a lot of instruments that reminded me of old detective dramas (upright bass, saxophone, vibes, brush set, etc), but added a few light electronic elements on top. In this trailer I've done music for basic sneaking and infiltration, added a few extra synth layers for the crosslink tool, created some escape music, and did a jazzy, walking bass and vibe piece for the store between missions.
There have been a lot of great entries so far, and even if I don't end up with the gig, I'm excited to play this thing for the crosslink gadget alone. Thanks for listening!
