"11.8. This cartoon was based on a British comic book, so people wanting to see another bombastic in-your-face American cartoon are surely going to hate a calm and smart animation like this. Rupert has way more depth and brains than most of its Western contemporaries at the time. None of the episodes feel patronising at all, all the characters have more feelings and flaws than just the happy face and the writing feels way more fleshed out and genuine than usual. "Rupert Bear is a considerate, smart, resourceful, brave, trusty, good spirited white bear who is extremely popular with all the residents of Nutwood."
Sad to say, some people just don't appreciate kindness, but personally if I am to meet a white bear, I'd prefer that it be the kind type, and not the infamous type.
I think there is something to be said for kindness and idealism; "this is a nice kid".
