Description:
Frank Butler (Warren Oates) is anything but the perfect father, a down at heel racehorse trainer who hits the bottle. So, when he comes back into his daughter's life after 14 years and wants to take her off to his job at the New York Racetrack, her aunt Phoebe (Carol Teitel) is horrified.
His daughter Jo (Kristy McNichol) learns to love and understand Frank her father and then accepts his relationship with Marie (Eileen Brennan).
Based on a short story by Ernest Hemingway.
