"Blacks' Magic was Salt-N-Pepa's third album. In 1990, the Queens trio broke down the concept for the album as simply as the lyrics to the track of the same name: "We call this song "Black Magic" cuz it's a fact," they said. "Anything that's tragic relates to black. Coincidental? (No)." Racial politics played a role in the album, but what made Blacks' Magic a hit was a message of female empowerment โ it was unabashedly sexual yet responsible. "All the ladies, louder now, let's talk about sex," "
