This album was the first album I ever got, given to me by my father after me asking about who sang "Wake Me Up When September Ends". He handed me the album, and little did I know this album would eventually save my life through a spiral of depression that I still suffer with today. Yup. Greenday officially rock this world. This album has a unique range of songs (They're all amazing) that continue to surprise me.

Greenday are one of the best rock bands out there today, so don't miss hearing this Album.

Green Day has been playing Punk-Pop music for many years now. If your a big 1970's punk music fan one of the things that you will notice is that Green Day is not really Punk at all so you may be turned off by them. I have never really been a big fan of Green day. But American Idiot is one of there best CD's they have ever made.

Description: American Idiot is the seventh studio album by the American punk rock band Green Day. It was released on September 21, 2004 through Reprise Records and was produced by longterm collaborator Rob Cavallo. In mid-2003, the band began recording songs for an album titled Cigarettes and Valentines. However, the master tracks were lost and the band decided to start over rather than re-record Cigarettes and Valentines. They decided to produce a rock opera, inspired by the work of The Who and numerous musicals. It follows the life of "Jesus of Suburbia", a sort of anti-hero created by Billie Joe Armstrong.
