"First viewing - May 1st So HBO Max finally got their act together and have this available in Japanese with English subtitles, therefore the kiddo and I kicked off May with it. And it's pretty good, there are definitely some moments I really enjoyed and the visuals are often great. It never fully comes together though, I felt, and if you've seen the film I suggest checking out Film Crit Hulk's write-up which gets at the issues well enough. It's absolutely worth a look, but I doubt I'd watch it t"

"The story is new, the characters are interesting but overall it isn't an amazing movie. Something is missing from the plot that did not make the movie sparkle. "
"2.1 Shinkai/Japani Animesta puhuttaessa olen aina hieman heikolla jäillä, en osaa suhteuttaa arvostuksiani mihinkään. Sen osaan sanoa, etteivät Makoto Shinkain elokuvat ole ns. mun juttu. Your Name ja Weathering With You ovat silmääni niin samanlaisia elokuvia, että kun erittelen toisen ongelmia puhun väkisin kummastakin. You know it'll ring hollow eventually to some of these characters. Either that or they're just... quite... indifferent? about the lives affected or lost by all this. That "

He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds a job as a writer for a shady occult magazine. After he starts his job, the weather has been rainy day after day. In a corner of the crowded and busy city, Hodaka meets a young woman named Hina. Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together, but have a cheerful and sturdy life. " Date: 1/17/2020 Viewed: In theaters First viewing Note: Not the best movie from Makoto Shinkai, but I still really enjoy this movie in my opinion. I really like all the characters and the animation was fantastic. Everything in this movie was gorgeous to look at. I can't think of any animation bits in this movie that looked bad at all. While the story is a bit predictable, they still did a good job on creating a good cast of characters. The characters are pretty memorable and you care about "
