Film Journal 2020 (125 movies items)"Though it barely does anything, Voices of Kidnapping does just about everything. Archaic footage of Colombian rain forests are coupled with audio of transmissions sent to those very jungles on a weekly basis that enable the relatives of kidnapped people hopefully communicate them, in one direction. It is a heartbreaking, completely un-melodramatic portrayal of people in terror, defiance and every damn thing in between.
