Triple Frontier Reviews
An average movie
Posted : 5 years ago on 16 April 2019 11:13Since I enjoyed so far all the movies directed by J.C. Chandor, I was quite eager to check this flick, especially since it was available on Netflix. Well, unfortunately, even though it was still a decent watch, Iโm afraid it still turned out to be his weakest movie so far. The biggest issue I had was that, even though I have to admit that I didnโt know anything about the plot before watching this flick, the damned thing still turned out to be so generic. I mean, by now, the whole concept of a team of a special forces operatives planning a heist has been done many times before and this movie didnโt provide anything really new to the genre. At least, Chandor โs directing was once again really solid, the whole thing looked really convincing and there was such a really neat cast involved (Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, Pedro Pascal). Another thing that I did appreciate about his group was that there was no backstabbing involved. Eventually, even though their characters were actually barely developed, they all made the most of it and, with a slightly more original story, it could have been actually pretty damned amazing. Anyway, to conclude, even it turned out to be another rather forgettable Netflix feature, I still think it is worth a look though, if only for the cast involved.
