This movie is probably one of the most obscure movies directed by Bernardo Bertolucci but I was still eager to check it out. A good movie

“This movie is probably one of the most obscure movies directed by Bernardo Bertolucci but I was still eager to check it out. Well, to be honest, I have to admit that I actually had a hard time to get into this flick (in fact, I even dozed off a couple of times but maybe it was because it was so damned hot when I watched the damned thing). It doesn't mean that it was a bad movie, not at all, and it reminded me of one of my favorite movies directed by Akira Kurosawa called 'Tengoku to jigoku'. Indeed, both movies were about some elderly rich men dealing with the kidnapping of their son. However, if Kurosawa managed to make from this material one of the most realistic and gripping thrillers I ever seen, Bertolucci went for something completely different and made a drama instead.
