A bad movie

Posted : 10 years, 5 months ago on 30 October 2013 10:27

I remember watching 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad' years ago, back then, it was one of my favorite movies and I loved the TV series, I last saw it 10 years ago and watching the Nostalgia Critic's review, I thought "He's made some good points in his review!"

It is bang on target for the target audience of children under 5, but only they are likely to be satisfied, and the movie has problems; the plot is confusing for kids, the acting isn't very good, Alec Baldwin's dialogue is laughable and the Americanization wasn't needed.

Nevertheless, the movie has a very good look; the models and sets look great, the poster looks great and there are a few funny moments.

But I also wish they could make the lips move, I am aware that they don't move in the TV series but the TV series (before the movie) was only 5 minutes, surely for an over hour movie, they can find a way to make the lips move and put a stop to Thomas's painted on grin (by changing from models to CGI, they finally made the lips move and not just the eyes).

A very bad movie

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 12 January 2011 11:51

As you may have noticed, I’m pretty obsessive concerning my movie watching. As a result, I end up watching the most obscure and worst garbage you can imagine just because one actor appears to be involved in this misguided mess. This time, I ended up watching this dreadful flick just because there was Alec Baldwin in it. I also thought it could be a nice watch for my step-son... Eventually, it turned out to be a huge mistake! I mean, I’m well aware that I’m far from being the target audience but pretty much like the TV show itself, I thought it was pretty abysmal. When watching this, you really wonder who thought that it was a good idea to make a full length version of this family show. Maybe it was a huge success back in those days? Anyway, the whole thing just looked awful and it was just very very very bad, completely boring and embarrassing to watch. I guess it maybe nice for very young children (up to 5 years) but otherwise it is a complete waste of time. To conclude, I didn’t like this flick at all and I don’t think it is worth a look whatsoever.
