An average movie

Posted : 7 years, 7 months ago on 25 September 2016 03:07

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie but since there was a nice cast involved, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, eventually, it turned out to be a decent watch but it never managed to really blow me away though. I mean, the whole thing definitely had some potential but it wasn't very well developed. The first issue was that there were just too many different layers to this story. In fact, each layer had some interesting elements but they didn't work very well together. Another issue is that even though it deals with writers and the writing process, I don't think this movie is actually for people who really read a lot. Basically, all the characters kept saying that it was a great book, even one of the best books ever written but, to be honest, I never had the feeling that it was so amazing. Sure, it sounded like a good story but not much more than that. That was another misguided point from this movie, how they tried to convince the viewers that it was indeed a great story because the Old Man actually lived the damned thing. A great book is above all because it is brilliantly written, the fact that it is autobiographical or not doesn't really matter at all. Anyway, in spite of these flaws, it was still not bad and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

A great version of the question "what is the price of fame?" Well acted, but the three parallel plot lines became a little distracting and the Dennis Quaid/Olivia Wilde sub-plot seemed rather pointless in the end.

Read the novel by watching 'The Words'

Almost a masterpiece and one of best movie from the year 2012. These kinda movies won't make into Oscar, that's really a shame. There is some controversy like the plot was similar to a German movie which was also adapted from a novel 'Lila Lila'. I have not seen that movie nor read a novel so I just loved this movie.

The story had multiple layers from different eras and it was well balanced. The twists were not really complicated one, anyone can predict the scenes but all the above brilliant direction from the two dรฉbutante directors.

Performances were so good, Bradley cooper steals the show, I felt he was better than in 'Silver lining playbook'. This movie was about a writer and movie was like reading a novel itself. Most of the critics did not like it much but if you like dramas them you will love it. Highly recommended from my side, have a good day.

One of the best movies, I have seen till todate. Although the ratings of movie is not that high, but I loved every moment of this movie.

Story of a person who loves "The Words" more than the woman who inspired him to write those words. Writers who had a passion to write, while one lost all in the cause, while other make fortune on the expense of some ones else work with a deep remorse when he discovered and met the original writer.

A must watch movie, I don't know whether this movie make its way to Oscars this year or not,but worth watching.
