"This TV-movie adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's classic novel was made by the great Cosgrove Hall Films, the British animation studio that made some of the best TV shows of my youth including 'Danger Mouse', 'Count Duckula', 'Victor and Hugo' and 'Chorlton and the Wheelies'. In comparison with Disney's 1949 adaptation, this version of 'The Wind in the Willows' is far more faithful to the text, its languid pace allowing us time to appreciate the beauty of the riverbank settings that were so crucial"
