Why do these thin children’s stories get blown out of proportion for feature length films? The greatness of something like The Story of Ferdinand is how such a slim story manages to pack such heart and emotion, and expanding it eventually means the studio enforced aesthetics takeover. "First viewing - June 9th The kiddo & I were supposed to see Ferdinand in the theatre, but the timing never worked out. On this night I was asked to babysit her & her step brother, so I put this on for all of us to watch together. It's a cute movie, but nothing especially outstanding. There are some very amusing moments, and some really stupid stuff too (like there evidently being only one place that keeps bulls in the entire area, and I say area because the actual geography is never really clea"
