The Shack update feed
"Offers up a few interesting ideas, but is surrounded in both treacle, and long stretches of boring nothingness. 4.3/10"
"When: August 25th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: DVD from Netflix. What'd I Think?: Some emotional scenes, drowned in treacle, and long boring stretches. My Rating: 4/10 Other Notes: NA."
"This borefest concerns a grieving father who gets to meet with God at a mysterious shack. The first hour was kind of interesting but then I got bored. The viewer is stuck with the father and the magical black character. It becomes a lot of religious psychobabble and melodramatic tea service. The story should climax to a poignant and enlightening resolution. Instead, it rambles on and on endlessly. It might be filled with religious significance and debate but it's done in a terribly boring way. C"
