“Neutral Notes:
*I was pretty excited about this one because I was hoping they would do a good main story for once.
*With Vincent D'Onofrio and Johnny Galecki in the cast it seemed fairly promising.
*I haven't seen any other film from director F. Javier Gutierrez.
*David Loucka also wrote House at the End of the Street and Dream House both of which I honestly enjoyed.
*Jacob Aaron Estes also wrote The Details and Mean Creek which were both also pretty good.
*Now Akiva Goldsman is one of those writers who is either average or pretty entertaining.
*Let's hope for the latter here.

"22 April. A final destination-esque opening looks promising but is cut short. 2 years later, a college professor acquires the tape, watches it and the scene once again is cut short. Don't know why they bothered as this movie isn't in the least bit scary. The story does give Samara's backstory but it does little to enhance the plot. There's nothing unique to make it stand out from your crappy generic teen horror movie and it is more or less devoid of any genuine frights and suspense. So a thumbs down from myself. I'd rather watc"
"From.... (The Ring Two 2005) To... (Rings 2017) Gap between movies : 12 years Was it worth the wait ? : I have some serious doubts about this one. Indeed, I really loved the Japanese version 'Ringu', but 'The Ring' was in fact decent at best and seriously overrated. On top of that, 'The Ring Two' was really weak and I don't see how another sequel more than 10 years later could be any improvement. "
