An guilty pleasure. (In Spanish)

Un caso complicado: una mezcla agria de comedia pseudoromántica con una interesante crítica a las parejas y de una historia de una pistola maldita, las sobrecomplicaciones y vueltas de una trama sin un rumbo fijo en la propia cinta. Y saben? ME GUSTA.

A bad movie

I know, my rating might seem a little bit harsh for this movie but, in my opinion, I thought the whole thing was a just a joke and not a good one. Indeed, before this flick was released, there was a huge buzz about it since it was the first movie starring Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, two of the biggest stars in the world at the time. Eventually, it was a flop at the box-office so I didn't expect much from it but it was even worse than my wildest dreams. Indeed, basically, it was a very misguided action-comedy and I was seriously bored to death during the whole thing. Seriously, the plot was inane, the characters played by Pitt and Roberts were both really stupid and obnoxious and it was neither funny or entertaining at any point. Back in those days, Brad Pitt was still struggling about which movie project he should choose and it would take him a couple of years before he would become one of the wisest movie stars in the world (alongside his buddies Matt Damon and George Clooney). Anyway, eventually, at some point, after so many years, I decided to give the damned thing another shot and guess what? It was just as lame as I thought it was the first time around. To conclude, the whole thing is just a big waste of time and you should pretty much avoid it.

so ridiculous

I remember why my friends and I ended up going to see this movie. We had arrived too late to see another film we all really wanted to see, and the only tickets left were for The Mexican. Since we really wanted to see a movie, we went in, expecting some action.
We literally laughed throughout the film, it was SO stupid.
Everything that could be wrong with this film IS wrong. The plot is sketchy and full of flaws; the characters aren't right for each other AND they're not likeable. The only reasons why anyone would like to see this movie are Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, but there is no chemistry between them.
Five thumbs down.
