Alberto and her wife Livia have raised their disabled nephew Paolo from birth. His mother, Giulia, died during the delivery and his father, Gianni, left the boy in the hospital and has never seen him. Alberto calls Gianni and tells him that he should travel with Paolo to Berlin for a medical treatment in a specialized hospital. Gianni has his first contact with his son, and during the trip, her feels connected to Paolo.
