"August 19 "Merry Christmas Eve, Bitch." I found this on Netflix and I thought it sounded interesting, so I checked it out and it was pretty good. The story itself isn't the most original, but it still works due to the strength of the characters and the writing. I was invested in the main characters, the world that this film builds and it does have a good sense of humor. For the most part at least. There was this one scene where one of our main characters was dragging another girl by the hair"

“I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this movie and the main reason I wanted to check it out was because it was included last year in the ’1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die’. To be honest, it seemed to be one of these really obscure entries that they add every year just so the list might seem edgy but, usually, those movies are removed directly the year after. Furthermore, I had the feeling that this movie was somewhat surfing on the current hype around the transgender topic. Still, it was quite an intriguing feature nonetheless. But this film shows us the whole other side of that magical town from where we all are dreaming. This is a beautiful and touching story of two transgender sex workers and their unbending friendship on the streets of Hollywood. It also shows us the unembellished side for the lower rank citizens and how they're "

" Netflix- 1hr. 27min. First Viewing An often hilarious and deeply felt film, Tangerine is a bold new step for indie-cinema. With it's use of transgender leads, both of whom (Kitana Kiki Rodriguez and Mya Taylor) are superb, and it's use of cameras, the film was shot on a series of iPhones, give the film and vibrant, urgent look/feel the keeps you on the films roller coaster. Sure to be a cult hit. "
