Description: The film chronicles the life of Nikolay Ivkushin, a tank commander who is captured by the Nazis. Three years later, he begins to plan his final escape, along with his newly recruited tank crew. In 1941, junior lieutenant Nikolay Ivushkin (Alexander Petrov) drives with a subordinate when they meet a German Panzer III tank. Through brave driving they escape unharmed and return to their men. In the village, Nikolay is promoted to the commander of rank tanks of a damaged T-34 tank. He and his men try to delay a great German advance. In the village, Nikolay is promoted to the commander of rank tanks of a damaged T-34 tank. He and his men try to delay a great German advance. They resist the fulminating fire and the T-34 receives many blows, but manages to take out several German tanks. Finally, at the end of the battle with most of the murdered Russian defenders, and most of his dead tank crew, Nikolay and driver Stepan Vasilyonok are captured.

3 years later, the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler sends Standartenführer Klaus Jäger (Vinzenz Kiefer) (who was a tank commander with whom Ivkushin fought in 1941) to a concentration camp to recruit a tank team to be used for shooting practices for the 12th Panzer SS Hitlerjugend Division. By recognizing Nikolay (who was sent to the camp), he gets his interpreter Anya (Irina Starshenbaum), to convince Nikolay to accept Jäger's proposal. Jäger wants to use Nikolay as a pawn in war games that his own tank teams can use for shooting practice. Nikolay accepts the challenge but with a clever escape plan in mind.

Nikolay selects another 3 men from the field, Vasilyonok, the Serafim Ionov loader and the gunner Demyan Volchok, who will be trained to crew the damaged T-34-85. Men initially resist, seeing Nikolay as a traitor and collaborator. When they present the tank, the Germans ask the Russians to clean the bodies of their former crew. When they remove the bodies from the tank, they discover 4 armor perforations and 2 explosive shells and hide them in the uniforms of the dead crew. The Russians bury the crew and projectiles outside the camp in the range of tanks. During this time, Nikolay develops a bond with Anya. After a period of days, the crew can enter the tank where Nikolay goes directly to the cemetery and retrieves the 6 shells.

After returning to the camp, Jäger makes a presentation to the members of the high command and praises the virtues of what his exercise will provide. Meanwhile, Anya sneaks into her office and steals the maps to escape to the Czech Republic. Then leave the camp.

Meanwhile the exercise begins. The Germans observe how one of their tanks advances in the "disarmed" T-34-85. The Russians fire and destroy the German tank and quickly fire a highly explosive projectile at the German observation post, killing most of the men present while Jäger and a general escape by little. The T-34 escapes the camp by damaging several vehicles in the process and the Russians rejoice while the Germans plan how to capture and destroy the T-34-85. Meanwhile, Anya is picked up outside the camp by Nikolay and his men. They realize that they are trapped in the depths of the German territory and chart a course to take them back to the German lines.

Meanwhile, Jäger gets some planes to find the lost T-34-85 and locates them. Then he takes command of 4 German Panther tanks and sets Nikolay in a small town. Nikolay and his crew burn their clothes and resupply themselves with fresh clothes and food and enjoy their night of freedom. Knowing that the Germans will chase them, Nikolay sends Anya on his way and continues his crew to the front lines.

In the city, the T-34-85 meets Jäger and his 3-tank squad. Nikolay, by cunning and cunning, removes a tank before sending Volchok, armed with a grenade to take over one of the other Panzers. Nikolay crashes into the walls before hitting one of the tanks. The Russians manually rotate the damaged turret and manage to shoot just when the Panther is about to shoot and destroy the tank. Unfortunately, Jäger has arrived with his tank and aligns his Panther to destroy Nikolay. However, Volchok manages to take out a shell from the Panther that damaged. Jäger's tank is also damaged, but quickly eliminates the captured Panther, seriously injuring Volchok in the process.

Both Jäger and Nikolay leave their tanks and Jäger throws his glove, inviting Nikolay to a duel. Both tanks move to the outskirts of the city and face over a narrow bridge that leads to an aqueduct. Jäger fires a shot in front of the T-34, but the projectile does not penetrate due to the replacement tracks added to the front armor, and begins to align a second shot on the tracks of the T-34-85, while Nikolay points to the point weakest in Panther: the driver's vision port. Both shots reach their intended targets and two tanks collide with each other. The Panther is hanging dangerously on the aqueduct and Jäger emerges just as Nikolay leaves his tank. Jäger yells at Nikolay to shoot him, but Nikolay offers mercy to his enemy. He offers his hand to Jäger and the German seems to accept it. but instead shakes hands with respect before releasing it. Seconds later, he throws himself to death with his tank into the river, while Nikolay watches. The crew decides to dispose of the damaged tank, not wanting the Germans to reuse it.

The crew meets Anya, who Nikolay ordered to meet in the field. The closing titles reveal that the 4 crew members survived the war and started new lives for themselves. ... (more)
