A good movie

Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 16 December 2013 06:08

To be honest, I have never been a fan of the Farrelly brothers’s work. Indeed, I completely despised ‘Dumb & Dumber’ and I really didn’t like much ‘There’s something about Mary’. Last time, I saw one of their last movies, ‘Hall Pass’, and it wasn’t really good either. Still, they made a couple of good movies and this one is definitely one of them, at least, that’s my opinion. Of course, it starts with a very lame concept (in this case, Siamese brothers) but the big difference is that it actually worked this time. To start with, instead of the usual suspects like Jim Carrey or Owen Wilson, they made a master move by casting 2 very good dramatic actors (Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear). Thanks to Damon and Kinnear, this movie goes beyond the usual gross jokes but during the more serious moments, it was still interesting because those guys have the necessary acting chops. Of course, the whole thing was pretty messed up and not everything was really funny but I believed in those brothers and I did care about what they were going through. To conclude, even though it was nothing amazing, I think it is a pretty good comedy and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in the Farrelly brothers’s work.

I found this film to be humorous, I don't know why it has this low of a rating. Sure it's cheesy, but meant to be. Matt Damon as the guy NOT getting the chicks is unusual and a little hard to believe, but Greg Kinnear is hilarious and cracked me up. The story was way unrealistic, but it doesn't matter. I enjoyed it.

Rating: 5.8/10

I'd put off watching this movie as it looked utterly stupid to me but seeing as it was on television I thought why not and I was surprised. I actually found it not only bearable but enjoyable to an extent, even laughed in parts. Not bad for an enjoyable feel good movie with a bit of a laugh.
