First Viewing The action is pretty solid, and the movie gets better as it goes on, but Prince of Thieves is too contrived and bland to make anything close to a lasting impression. The cast is a pretty mixed bag, with Costner miscast and, most of, the rest of the cast taking this way too seriously. Rickman is the only one looking like he's having any fun, and he gives the best performance in the film. "
