Not a bad film. Not great either. Connery and Hepburn are fine. There is a great supporting cast of Robert Shaw, Nicol Williamson, Denholm Elliott, Ian Holm, Ronnie Barker (one half of the Two Ronnies) but the trouble is we see soooooo little of them. I don't think Barker had more than 2 words to say! And to have the great talent of Ian Holm wasted on a less than 5 minute seen was criminal. Richar... read more

Description: Robin and Little John are middle-aged men in this new chapter of the Robin Hood legend. Returning from the Crusades through France, they are present when the crazy King Richard the Lionhearted meets a ludicrous and undignified death. The two comrades decide that it is time to go home again. Things it turns out, haven't changed all that much in Sherwood Forest. "24.9. 2022 Robin Hood returns home from the Crusades and he is excited to meet his true love, Marian, once again. Robin soon has to face unpleasant reality because everything has changed and he isn't a young man anymore. Richard Lester's adventure film is slightly more interesting than more calculated films of its kind but it isn't just imaginative enough to be a true classic."
