An average movie

I remember it very well, when this movie was released, I was still living in France and, back then, nobody really knew what to do with this flick. I mean, for the French people, who the f*ck was Howard Stern?!? I mean, we heard a little bit about his reputation but since we had never listened to his radio shows, it seemed rather pointless to release this movie outside the USA. Anyway, I can't say ... read more

The true story of Howard Stern's "rise" from schoolboy nerd to leading DJ in the USA. This is adapted from his book and is a whirlwind ride through 30 years, with the main focus being on his career at small stations and his big break at NBC. The fact that it is from Stern himself means that the story focuses on his good sides and tends to brush over the more difficult issues relating to his insens... read more

Pop Culture Phenomenon Films: 90’s (1884 movies items)

" Howard Stern tells his story, about how he became the “King of All Media” and America’s greatest nightmare, in this surprisingly sweet movie. You still get Stern, but it’s still a very weirdly heart warming movie at times, too. Based on the book of the same name, the film also introduced Paul Giammati, as Pig Vomit in a very memorable role. The film became a film success, and critics liked it too. “Baba Booie.”"

My Top 175 Favorite Comedies (175 movies items)

"The real life story of the world's most famous shock jock and his the meteoric rise to the top of talk show radio. And by "real life", what I mean is that it's true. Who woulda thunk that a movie about Howard Stern's early life on the air woulda made for a pretty decent movie? And by "decent", what I mean is that's it's not dirty. At least, not as much as one would expect it to be considering it's about the self-proclaimed "King Of All Media". "
