"30.5. 2019 "The First Charge of the Machete" is one of the several examples of experimental Cuban cinema of its time. It is a pseudo-documentary that is supposed to look like an actual news report filmed in the 19th century. The end result isn't as smooth as it could have been. The film works somehow as a brave experiment but high-contrast black and white photography and restless use of camera make it pretty challenging to watch."
