The Pink Panther 2 Reviews

The first Pink Panther remake was quite terrible and it was rather surprising that they decided to go for a sequel since the first installment was a complete disaster, at least critically. At least, they couldn’t make a worst movie, it seemed rather unlikely and, indeed, it wasn't worse but it wasn't really better either, I’m afraid. Indeed, even though Steve Martin is a huge fan of Peter Sellers, he completely messed up his performance as Inspecteur Jacques Clouseau, once again, and, this time again, the whole plot was just a terrible bore. To cover up all these weaknesses, they brought a massive supporting cast (Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Andy Garcia , Alfred Molina, Aishwarya Rai, John Cleese, Lily Tomlin, Jeremy Irons, Johnny Hallyday) but every single one of them was really wasted and none of their characters was either interesting or entertaining. Not so long ago, I finally saw the original version and, even though I wasn’t completely blown away, I was indeed impressed by Peter Sellers who gave one of the best comic performances I have ever seen. It was pretty obvious from the start that Steve Martin wouldn't manage to top such a performance but I didn’t expect him to deliver such a tedious job. To conclude, I thought it was pretty bad and I don’t think it is worth a look at all, especially if you are a fan of the original Pink Panther.

My parents showed me the ol' Pink Panther movie with Peter Sellers and I watched the cartoons whenever they came on cartoon network..or whatever. I was intrigued by the idea of a newer film with Steve Martin, can't be bad right?...Incorrect! The first film was quite dreadful and a disgrace to Pink Panther. I mean they had Beyonce??? She's awful!

On to this film..being definitely skeptical, I was expecting a more decent film..mainly because Beyonce would not be in it(Praise God!). The plot isn't great, however Steve Martin was a bit funnier, John Cleese gave me laughs I mean he's brilliant! Oh and who replaced Beyonce? The STUNNING Aishwarya Rai. Oh man! My eyes lit up and I gasped (wow!), When she first appeared. She's a superb "bollywood" actress and her beauty and acting are far superior than Beyonce..sorry.


That was the main highlight of the film to me..pretty sad really. Rai made the film decent. Without her this film would have been a 2 star rating for me. The French accent, although annoying to some, was too stereotypical and not even funny hahaa. With better writing, this movie could have been a lot better. I'm hoping they do NOT make another Panther film.

Steve Martin Clouseuna jostain syystä kutittaa nauruhermojani. Martin on yleisesti hyvin varma koomikko siinä mielessä, että hän on useimmiten herttaisella tavalla hölmö ja kömpelö pölvästi jokaisessa (ainakin useimmissa) elokuvassaan.

Slapstickin jalon taidon Martin hallitsee hyvin ja kuten tiedämme, on vahingonilo usein se paras ilo. Kyllä se naurattaa, kun joku kävelee sähkötolppaa päin, ei sille voi mitään.

Tykkäsin Pink Panther 2:sta. Ja huomattavasti enemmän kuin ensimmäisestä osasta.
