There's worse stuff out there!

Posted : 11 years, 2 months ago on 21 January 2013 10:40

I wouldn't say this was a really really bad film. No, it wasn't brilliant. But, I've seen much worse, believe it or not. I agree that Bean was more worse than this. I think it just depends on whether you like Mr. Bean or not...I personally can't say I do, he gets annoying and boring eventually.

The only funny parts in this film was the part when Willem Dafoe shows up, and because he's usually a very serious actor and so fourth, the film basically takes the piss out of him, and it's quite funny, to be honest. And, yes, the plot is a little hazy, but like I said, I've seen much worse. France looked nice though.

It's not a film I'd watch again, but if I was bored, and it was the only thing about, then sure, I might watch it. And of course I wouldn't recommend, after all, it's just a film for kids. So, if you don't like Mr. Bean then yes, it would be wise to avoid this at all costs.

Mr. Bean's Holiday review

Posted : 12 years, 7 months ago on 31 August 2011 12:15

I always liked Rowan Atkinson with his mimic mood (despite statements in the films) simply priceless, another movie that I am well pleased with Rowan’s “Johnny English.” Mr. Bean is still a modern Chaplin. He makes anyone laugh without giving a single word. And the output movie so it doesn’t need to talk is a balcony of the master, make the plot unfold in another country, for France, where he doesn’t know a word. Very good in that terms.

A very bad movie

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 13 January 2011 02:24

I remember perfectly, a really really long time ago, one of my best friends made me watch 'Bean' in the theater. I completely hated it and it became instantly one of the worst movie I have ever seen. So, you could imagine that I wasn't really thrilled when I found out that they were making 10 years later another movie with this character but, somehow, I still ended up watching it. I guess it was some kind of morbid curiosity to find out if it was again as bad as the first installment. The good news is that, I have to admit, it was a little bit better than 'Bean'. The bad news was that it was still pretty bad... Honestly, I have actually nothing against this legendary character, Mr Bean, and I'm sure they could make a decent movie with him but until now, they only made 2 worthless flicks. This time, the beginning was actually bareable but then Bean got stuck with that kid and then the movie got seriously just truly awfull. I mean, you see the joke when the kid get stuck on the train and you think 'That was mean but actually quite funny! Ok, and next?' Next? When the movie should leave the kid in the train, he actually becames the center of the plot...I really couldn't believe it. Anyway, in my opinion, it is a really bad mix of lame comedy and pityfull drama and it is not worth a look whatsoever. Basically, just avoid this.

Pathetic but hilarious!!

Posted : 14 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2010 12:21

I know that most people think it's a pile of crap but I think it is a very enjoyable entertaining film. I think Mr. Bean's Holiday is one of my biggest guilty pleasures because deep down I know it's crap but I can't help but find it hilarious. What I think it so good about it is that it always keeps you laughing all the way from the start right to the very end of the film. It feels like the humour within the film never lets go until the ending credits roll up. Sometimes, I feel embarassed that I like this film but it is bloody hilarious! I have watched it numerous times. It is a very stupid plot obviously but an enjoyable one at the same time.

Rowan Atkinson is an idiot but is one hilarious actor. One thing that I think was very different that not many people like about this one is that Bean actually talks whereas he doesn't at all in the original Bean movie. Well he mumbles most of the time in this one and the other one but has a few moments in Mr. Bean's Holiday of talking. Rowan Atkinson was fantastic as Johnny English. I love that film but I have to say he's awesome as Bean. Seeing Rowan portray Bean is one of those things where people will be unsure whether Rowan was good or absolutely crap. That's the trouble playing really clumsy witty characters. Jim Carrey playing witty, idiotic characters is another one especially in Dumb And Dumber and Me, Myself And Irene. The young boy in this film was really good. When you see him in girls clothes in the film, he really does look like a girl especially an Asian or just a really tanned dark haired girl.

Most people think that the directing was absolutely appalling but I don't think it was that bad as a matter of fact. It seemed to be a bit like cheap filmmaking but I thought the directing where the screen was the view of a video camera was absolutely incredible! I really do appreciate this film for being what it is not beause it is crap.

Mr. Bean's Holiday is crap but I really like it which is why it is my biggest guilty pleasure of all time. Rowan Atkinson is a hilarious guy but a total idiot when it comes to playing idiot characters. Mr. Bean's Holiday is one of the funniest films of 2007. It isn't that far from reaching my favourite comedies either. There are three simple words that explain my whole review: "crap but hilarious."

Good Britsh comedy

Posted : 16 years, 1 month ago on 25 February 2008 07:31

It seems like most comedies coming out these days are either really stupid parodies of real movies, like Meet the Spartans and Epic Movie, or more adult humor oriented that sometimes are in totally bad taste.
But along comes Mr. Bean.
I've yet to see the show and have only seen Mr. Bean in action once in his previous movie and having also seen Johnny English, which Rowan Atkinson is also in, I kinda knew what was coming before I watched it.
And I have to say that more comedies should be like Mr. Bean's Holiday.
Story wise it was cute as Mr. Bean wins a holiday to Cannes, France and how he gets there while he causes so much damage along the way.
Comedic elements are also cute and doesn't need to be interpreted by a adult mind to get the jokes so it's a good movie for younger audience.
Acting by both Rowan Atkinson and by the boy, played by Max Baldry, in the film is great and both compliment each other as a half functioning adult and fully functioning child.
Music wise the soundtrack in solid and adds perfectly to the film.
All in all Mr. Bean's Holiday it a solid family friendly comedy and should be enjoyed by anyone who watches it.

silly

If you are a fan of Mr. Bean, you will enjoy this movie. I took my son and he had a blast. (He is a fan of Mr. Bean.) The movie is very silly and has some very funny moments. If you don't like British humor, you might want to skip this one. The movie follows that misadventures of Bean as he goes on vacation in France. Needless to say nothing goes according to plan and everything falls apart for his vacation.
