To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a decent cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, I’m a huge fan of Indiana Jones and, sure, it might be unfair to compare this movie with such a classic but to be honest, I wasn’t surprised by how lame the damned thing turned out to be. Fifteen year old Mariah Mundi's parents went missing on their travels leaving Miriah to finish the colonial school an orphan. When the time came for Mariah to leave the school and work as an magician's apprentice a strange man gave him a pack of mysterious playing cards at the train station for safe keeping. Mariah and his new friend Sacha find mysteries and secrets lurking in the deep depths of the hotel but can they get to the bottom of it without being captured or killed?

“To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since there was a decent cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, I’m a huge fan of Indiana Jones and, sure, it might be unfair to compare this movie with such a classic but to be honest, I wasn’t surprised by how lame the damned thing turned out to be. Seriously, even if it wasn’t a complete disaster, it wasn’t far from it though. I wonder if the story worked better in the book it was adapted from because, with this adaptation, right from the start, the damned thing was just a mess. Indeed, instead of giving us a proper introduction, you start in the middle of the story which was rather confusing but, even more problematic, they kept making some weird shortcuts all along.
