An average movie

Posted : 1 year, 11 months ago on 23 May 2022 08:39

To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have weak spot for Lily Collins, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, the damned thing was certainly not original and did remind me of many famous romantic comedies such as ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, ‘My Best Friend's Wedding’ and, above all, ‘When Harry Met Sally...’. The other major obstacle for this movie was the fact there was no actual meet-cute, in fact, right from the start, it was pretty obvious that the two characters were heads over heels for each other, apparently since kindergarten, so how they could they keep them apart until the end of the movie? Well, in contrary to ‘When Harry Met Sally...’ which handled this concept perfectly, it was however never really convincing here. For example, was Alex an orphan with no friends whatsoever? How come nobody told him to wake the f*ck up and just tell this girl what he feels? For Rosie, it wasn’t much better. Indeed, she did have a family but nobody mentioned that she should probably get with Alex. Furthermore, how weird was that the only friend she ever had was the girl working at the drugstore where she bought her pregnancy test? And, yet, even if it was rather poorly developed (or in fact not developed whatsoever), the concept really had some potential and if I think it could have been pretty good if they took a slightly more realistic and darker approach. Furthermore, Lily Collins and Sam Claflin were both so charismatic and they had tons of chemistry together. Anyway, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, I have to admit that it was still a decent watch, above all thanks to the charming leads, and I think it is worth a look but probably only if you really like the genre.

Love, Rosie review

Posted : 6 years, 2 months ago on 4 February 2018 08:25

I can't believe it took me that long to watch the movie, I knew it accidentally from some Multicouples Video on YouTube but there was always that line that caught my attention again and again:"Because I’ve realized that no matter where you are, or what you’re doing, or who you’re with. I will always, honestly, truly, completely love you."

Actually I don't know, it's terrifying that after like 25 Minimum You realize that you were hanging out with the Love of your life without knowing that, You were missing it and searching for it in other places and ended screwed up completely.

I LOVED THE MOVIE! Maybe because it wasn't dark and full of emotions that leaves you feeling depressed, it was funny and like a roller-coaster of feelings as I like to say.
what made me frustrated a bit that If only Rosie remembered she kissed Alex on her 18th birthday Probably the whole film would have ended in the the first 10 Minutes, But Yup this is Drama..

I would tell that story was a circle of misunderstanding and losing chances that you can't control.

I think It's one of the movies that I would like to watch again.
Loved all of the cast but TBH Jaime Winstone is underrated actress, I loved her a lot♥

You can't respect the friendship by denying the fa

You can't respect the friendship by denying the facts.

Definitely a modern love story. The movie covers the story of the title character, Rosie's 12 years of life. From the night when she celebrates her 18th birthday till becomes the 30 year old mother. It's a long journey in the real life, and the movie report only the romance side of the life as it is a romantic comedy. Based on the book named 'Where Rainbow Ends', but lots of changes have been done to make a youthfully celebratible movie for the young generation.

Usually, the famous romantic dramas are slow, lengthy, and well developed characters. Of course, this one was a romcom, though, much better in many aspect with less emotions and swift pace. About the characters, it was Rosie's perspective and having Alex as a counterpart, the rest are not given much importance other than permits a fair display. Nowadays I kind like Lily Collins, she's cute, maybe it is a crush. But that does not the reason to I like this film, not entirely true. I find it somewhat atypical with many convincing scenes and lines.

The story is intensifyingly frustrates us as it takes extreme turns all the time just to make a further riddle and complicate. But that is how the screenplay survives or there won't be any story to tell. It might be Rosie's romance, but you don't have to be a woman/girl to enjoy this film. I don't believe such kind of categorisation, because in the earlier time everyone believed animation is for children only and then it proved wrong. So if a man can watch a movie without damaging his brain, losing his eyesight, or becoming paralysed, then I don't see an issue rather making up everything himself. Hope you all enjoy the movie as I did.

7.5/10
