More than fiction that narrates this film, what else can be interested in his story is the extraordinary portrait of an era and shows the complex social circumstances of spanish life in the early 60s. I mean the little treated inside the immigration issue, where Spain exported abundant supply of works to other more prosperous european countries, preferably France and Germany.

"La piel quemada" (The Burned Skin) shows the immigration background from Andalusian to Catalonia. It is a portrait of neorealism almost late and called spanish "developmentalism", when the country began to emerge from the postwar structural poverty but still perceived the evils in their society that generated it. The "local color" of those years staged in typical summer sun and sea, but seen from the curious relationship between bricklayers some spanish and foreign tourists is simply priceless and is superbly captured in the screen.
