"Re-watch - Dec. 29th I still don't think this movie warrants a higher rating. It's definitely good, but I don't find it to be great. The cast does an admirable job all around (though watching Kevin Spacey play a slimeball cop isn't as easy to take in 2017), and the story is worthwhile. I also appreciate the complexity of the Bud White and Ed Exley characters, but a film about police corruption just doesn't endear itself to me. Thus it's a film I respect but don't love."
