Description: “The Dry Lake”, Shinoda’s second film, helped to position him as a core member of the new wave of directors at Shochiku. Written by the controversial Shuji Terayama (Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets), Dry Lake was also the first Shinoda film to feature a score by frequent collaborator Toru Takemitsu, who was not yet well-known.
