I just finished watching this film and I HAD to write about it.

The title with so many "mad" in it is perfect. This film is wild to the exact meaning of the word.

Director Stanley Kramer is probably best known for his serious dramas such as "Champion", "The Defiant Ones", "Inherit the Wind" and "Judgement at Nuremberg" etc so this film came as a complete change of pace for him. After a long prison sentence Smiler Grogan is heading at high speed to a California park where he hid $350,000 from a job 15 years previously. He accidentally careers over a cliff in view of four cars whose occupants go down to help. The dying Grogan gives details of where the money is buried and when the witnesses fail to agree on sharing the cash, a crazy chase develops across the state.

"February 3rd Directed by: Stanley Kramer I kind of hate super wide aspect ratios but this actually looked incredible. Thought I should get that out of the way before I talk about the actual reason to watch this, it's one of the most fun movies ever. When it's not specifically out to make you laugh, which is almost never, it's still intensely entertaining. I watched the extended cut which I've learned over the years is always, always a bad idea, but of course as soon as there's an extended cut "
