Trash.

Posted : 9 years, 8 months ago on 5 August 2014 01:01

i usually don't review movies based on comics because they all are the same, big budget clusterfuck with enormous plot mistakes, shitty stories and flat out terrible performances, but i'm gonna go out on the limb here cause this fucking movie made 1.2 billion dollars.
A lot of people watched it because of robert downey jr, and yeah i get it, he's charming and funny, and carried out the franchise all by himself, but please try not to be biased and let's talk about the movie, it was horrible, the story was weak, forced and have absolutely no events going on, Ben Kingsley delivered an insultingly terrible performance along with Guy Pearce who lost his acting capabilities over the years, so what we have here is completely unnecessary sequel other than to cash-in on the "die-hard-fans" and it succeeded doing so since it was the most successful movie of 2013.
The movie had so many plot errors as if it was shot each scene at a time, with no connection to the other scene, tony stark get sick at a times, and becomes fine at another times so randomly, it was down right annoying, and let's not forget the shitty jokes, and the fact that he made a joke 5 seconds after his wife fall down and supposed to be dead, also the random narration that comes and goes in random times, look i get it, the movie might be "fun to watch" but from a production perspective it was terrible just like the 2nd one and the fact that people are supporting this movie and overrate it, means that we will have Iron Man 4 and 5 and.......because Hollywood is going to be greedy and "fans" still gonna support it.

Iron Man 3 review

Curiosities Iro man 3

Iron man 3 was the highest grossing movie of 2013 raising 1.215 billion dollars, beating films like Fast and Furios 6, The Hunger Games 2: Aflame And GRU

In the talk with Tony and the War Machine Mandarin there is a game on TV, which the Mandarin celebrates a goal , it is a match between Liverpool and Chelsea presumably ( from the color of the kit ) .

The child that is Star Lord Tony could be but in the present as the child's name is Harley, but the full name is Peter Lord Harley Star Quill.

This film is quite the comic away , so we must anaizarla focusing only to marvel cinematic universe . Not that the Mandarin does not exist, but that it is the Mandarin Killian . He himself said it and also wore tattoos. Yes, a little annoying , but if we focus on the cinematic frame , which is a different universe , it is a good movie .

It is the only delivery in the armor are used or worn by other characters.

The scene in which the people of the plane falls was recorded in air verda lazƔndose a helicopter , and other scenes were recorded with shutters but in the air.

Artfully blends the humor and heart of the first films with a force to heavy-metal - and a well deserved obscurity. Iron Man 3 'breaks into the big screen with the right mix of explosions, bullets, jokes and pranks superhero to prove that he still has a lot of energy to this metal hero.

"Iron Man 3" (2013)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Tony Stark's world is shattered by a ruthless terrorist known as the Mandarin, forcing him back to basics with minimal hardware as he sets out to find his nemesis.
As a fan of all these interconnected Marvel movies, naturally I was looking forward to this one. And, while I don't think it's one of the best overall, when it's good, it's really good.
There were a few things that bothered me, so let's get those out of the way first. It tries to be more psychological than the first two movies by making Tony prone to panic attacks following the events of The Avengers, but nothing significant ever comes of that. It's also far more unexpectedly gruesome than the first two, including several scenes of torture. And the ending seems like it's trying to wrap up a trilogy, but nothing about the ending makes sense.
But of course, where the movie shines is its action scenes, especially the big climactic battle. It's so entertaining that you're willing to forgive many of the film's shortcomings.
But now let's address the elephant in the room: the Mandarin twist. :) I never read the comics myself, but I can understand why fans would feel betrayed. Personally, in the context of the movie, I think it works.
Overall, while I would advise approaching with caution because it does get far more grisly than its predecessors, I'd still say this is worthy follow-up: equally humorous and exhilarating.

My rating: 70%

One of a fine trilogy

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 11 September 2013 04:02

It's weird, the movie starts without the opening credits. Soon it begins you will forget everything but the only focus on the movie and the story. Like other two 'Iron Man' I liked this third movie as well but this movie was a little lacked in high-octane action stunts. But still no short for an entertainment.

'Iron Man 3' one of a most anticipated movie of the year. I still don't understand this movie and 'Avenvegers' are connected or separate stream stories because Tony behaves like there's one like he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. Anyway this movie was a bit more dramatised than stunts, it tells his earlier time mistake which creates a deadly enemy for the present. I always wondered such a good actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, appearances in earlier two movies were so wasted. At least she gets some improvise role here, maybe we can expect more from her in the next movie in the series I guess.

I totally loved the Ben Kingley's cameo though I easily guessed the twist on his role. More or less this movie's success made 'Iron Man' trilogy to one of a fine trilogy ever. A good movie to watch once, especially if you ever liked 'Iron Man' duology or any other sci-fi- action movies.

8/10

Impressive third installment.

Posted : 10 years, 11 months ago on 16 May 2013 10:49

In addition to serving as the third installment in the Iron Man series, the events of Iron Man 3 take place soon after The Avengers. Following the success of that film, expectations were exceedingly high of what audiences were to expect in Tony Starkā€™s next adventure. However, Iron Man 3 underwent a number of changes compared to the two predecessors, particularly Shane Black replacing Jon Favreau as director and judging by the trailer, it had an eerie and more personal touch to it. Considering the changes compared to the filmā€™s predecessors, Iron Man 3 is a fantastic installment into the trilogy and is another Marvel triumph.

Director Shane Blackā€™s deliverance of creative humour and dialogue in his debut feature Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2005 was displayed once again in Iron Man 3. The character of Iron Man/Tony Stark has been the central source of the trilogyā€™s black humour throughout the past two Iron Man films and The Avengers. So, particularly through this character, Blackā€™s style of dark humour worked. However, in terms of Iron Man 3ā€™s narrative structure, it appeared somewhat flat on occasions, particularly in the middle. Without giving too much detail, the story has a Dark Knight Rises concept behind it and the repetitive structure creates a distinctively flat and more predictable touch.

Just like every Marvel film, the visual effects and action scenes are key points as they embark audiences into it all and, consequently, raise a high level of excitement. While specific effects and action sequences are impressive, there are some that appeared either mindless or forced. Particularly in the unique climatic build-up, the inclusion of several technologically-controlled Iron Man armouries as well as Stark and Rhodes, it became very clear that it forcibly aimed to be as intense and exciting by throwing these characters on the screen. Quite frankly, they didnā€™t even need to be included at all. Despite this, it was great to see Iron Man and War Machine/Iron Patriot in action again and to be introduced to new characters.

Although previously stated that the story of Iron Man 3 felt a tad flat on occasions, it exposed characteristics of the Iron Man character that had not been portrayed in the predecessors or The Avengers. Iron Man 3 illustrates the character as vulnerable, not an all-powerful force and more importantly ā€“ a closer, personal analysis into Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr. marks his second collaboration with director Shane Black and once again portrays Tony Stark/Iron Man with a memorable performance. While still an arrogant hero, Downey Jr becomes the most emotional in any film that heā€™s been in since rebooting his career. Therefore, a little twist was added and we could be in for something extraordinary in The Avengers 2 and possibly Iron Man 4.

Gwyneth Paltrow reprises her role as Starkā€™s love interest Pepper Potts. Their relationship is tested in Iron Man 3 and on occasions, becomes more important to the story than actually saving the world from harm. In that sense, it added a romantic-drama touch to it. In addition, Don Cheadle returns as Colonel Rhodes with the same War Machine armour. However, the upgraded armory transformed him into the Iron Patriot. While the performance and re-interpretation of character is likeable enough, he is still overshadowed by Stark and new figures. On that note, Guy Pearceā€™s portrayal of Aldrich Killian was great with a psychotic touch and has a scramble for power, like any comic book villain. As for Ben Kingsley, he easily became the best actor in the entire film in terms of performance. While avid Marvel fans could be disappointed with the twist of the Mandarin character in Iron Man 3, Kingsleyā€™s performance was so exposed, free and unstoppable in relation to Heath Ledgerā€™s portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Thus, while everybody wanted to see Iron Man 3 as a follow-up to The Avengers, we got a superb third installment in the Iron Man series that certainly triumphed over the disappointing second film and has become a solid build-up to The Avengers 2. It was a slight bend compared to other Marvel films as it became less a superhero film but more of a crime-thriller. Nevertheless, Shane Blackā€™s work on Iron Man 3 was impressive and the hopes of a possible Iron Man 4 could be worth taking.

Engaging, fun and full of spectacular action!

Posted : 10 years, 11 months ago on 5 May 2013 03:50

The last Iron Man film was severely lacking a great villainous feeling, the action seemed like it went nowhere, and even the wittiness we have come to expect from Tony Stark just fell flat. All of that was back for Iron Man 3, making it perhaps the most engaging and entertaining of the series so far.

America is under attack from a terrorist known as The Mandarin, and when Tony Starkā€™s good friend Happy Hogan is left in a coma, Stark issues a threat to the Mandarin starting a war that this time Stark may not be able to win.

All of the key players are back, including Robert Downey Junior, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, this time under the direction of Shane Black instead of Jon Favreau( who reprised his role as Hogan). Not only was the film directed by Black, but the screenplay was written by Black and Drew Pearce, and probably featured the best one liners in the series thus far. Tony Stark is known for his sarcastic attitude, his ego and his confidence and even though he has struggling a bit since the events of the Avengers all the classic Stark personality traits were present.

Robert Downey Junior is flawless when portraying Tony Stark. He fits into the role so easily and it has been fun to watch him develop this character from an egotistical billionaire playboy to someone who struggles and battles anxiety. It was that aspect of the film that really sold the character development, it was a new side of Tony, a more vulnerable side of himself that opened up the film to new potentials and Shane Black was able to capitalize on them.

Newcomers to the series Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley and Rebecca Hall all had key contributions to the end result, most notably Pearce. Half way through the film the plot takes a turn, one that was completely unexpected and is drawing heavy criticism, but one that worked for film purposes. Kingsley and Pearce nailed their villainous roles, adding a little fun to it thanks to Blackā€™s cheeky screenplay. Hallā€™s character tied the story together, playing a huge part in Tonyā€™s past and now the present. Rebecca Hall is a fantastic actress and she proved that once again here. Another solid role for her.

This film could stand as the conclusion to the solo Iron Man films. It was a fitting story, one that tested Stark and his loyalties. It has become clear that Robert Downey Junior is Iron Man, and replacing him now for the Avengers 2 would be a terrible mistake. He has created something special with Tony Stark/Iron Man and it is a must that he see it through to Marvelā€™s ultimate conclusion (whether that be Civil War, or something else). Tony Stark has always been a great character, and having an actor with the talent that RDJ has play him is just a delight and something fans deserve to see for many years to come. On the flip side, if this does happen to be the last we see of RDJ as Iron Man, itā€™s been a lot of fun and I have been thoroughly entertained by the stories.

An average movie

Posted : 10 years, 11 months ago on 4 May 2013 10:23

I already saw this movie but since it was a while back and since I just bought a brand new awesome TV, I thought I might as well check it out again. First of all, like anyone else, I was rather disappointed by 'Iron Man 2' but, as usual, they promised that the following installment would be darker and simply better. And, indeed, it turned out to be a massive box-office success following 'The Avengers' released the year before. Anyway, how was the damned thing eventually? Honestly, I thought it was a slight improvement on the previous sequel but not much more I'm afraid. Don't misunderstand me though, it wasn't a bad movie, far from it, and there were many things that I enjoyed a lot. Indeed, Robert Downey Jr. rocked as usual and he was very often hilarious. The whole anxiety thing was also interesting even if if they didn't spend much time on this and it was nice as well that they developed his relationship with Pepper Potts. Finally, the action scenes were pretty solid. So, what bothered me then? In my opinion, the story was barely interesting after all. I mean, it was entertaining enough but I never really cared about the whole thing. Furthermore, they kind of messed up the bad guy. Ben Kingsley gave, as usual, a decent performance so I don't think he should be blamed but, basically, they pulled off the same trick as in 'The Dark Knight Rises' which was to reveal at the end that the bad guy was not so bad after all but just a mere henchman. However, it is not a nice trick at all, in fact, it is actually terribly underwhelming and, in this case, it was not the best way to pay tribute to one of the most bad-ass characters from the Marvel mythology. Anyway, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, it was still a decent blockbuster though and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre but, as usual, don't believe the hype.

My expectations were way too much high for this movie. I couldn't be more disappointed. What the hell Mr. Shane Black?! Awful. It almost made Green Lantern seems like a good movie. What a pity. Great potential, and it was destroyed...

Quintessential Shane Black

Posted : 11 years ago on 25 April 2013 02:13

Tony Stark is in many ways a changed man. Yes he his still glib and suave but once the spotlight is off he shows a more vulnerable persona. The fact that he spends more time out of the suit than it shows how much he has been traumatized by the events of The Avengers and the attack of the terrorist, Mandarin.

Robert Downey Jr really shines here playing it both loose and tense as he shows how Stark finds this reserve of character and steadfastness to do what is necessary to save those he loves.

Iron Man 3 is quintessential Shane Black - full of dark humor and unexpected twists. He loves to subvert your expectations in a way that will have you alternating laughter with sounds of amazement.

The action builds to a number of amazing set pieces - the monkey-in-a-barrel sequences, the denouement when Tony Stark/Iron Man confronts the villain had me holding my breath at many points.

After having been subjected to bad-to-middling special effects in a number of recent movies, I had a hard time telling what was real and what was CGI. The effects were that good. I watched the 2D version so I can't comment on the 3D transfer.

I have to give kudos to the entire cast. Gwyneth Paltrow finds added dimensions to Pepper. Don Cheadle as Rhodey is hilarious in the way he and Downey Jr. play off one another. Guy Pearce is like a snake - both mesmerizing and repellant. Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin gave the movie one of it's best twists!

James Badge Dale and Rebecca Hall are great as well. It's also good to see Jon Favreau back as Happy Hogan.

A lot of the times the third movie in a huge franchise is content to rest on its laurels resulting in a tepid film that pales in comparison to what came before. Iron Man 3 subverts this expectation, giving us a thrilling ride but also taking the time to explore characters.
