Description: The Marx Brothers parody college life in this gag-filled, fast-paced comedy. The fast-talking new president of Huxley College needs to scrounge up some top-flight ringers for his football team, but ends up with a bootlegger and a mute dog ... Full Descriptioncatcher instead. More laughs than most comedies (and smart laughs, at that), this script, coscripted by satirist SJ Perelman, is humor at its most clever. Nat Pendleton, who plays "McCarthy," was a former Olympic wrestler. "This is the shortest Marx Brothers movie, and you can see why: with a super-thin "plot" about Huxley College having to win a football game and minimal time given to the supporting characters, the brothers have nearly the entire movie to themselves. The musical numbers slow down the movie and Harpo's solo on the harp goes on for way too long. "Re-watch - Dec. 10th I wanted to watch something with my daughter, but she looked at the other options and announced she wanted to watch none of them. So I decided to see what she would think of the Marx Brothers, and picked this one to start her off with. She laughed hysterically at most of Harpo's antics, which made me happy.
