An average movie

Posted : 6 years, 5 months ago on 22 November 2017 10:11

Even though I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, since there was a decent cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, unfortunately, it turned out to be another generic and boring Jason Statham action flick. What bothered me the most was how poorly written the damned thing was. Seriously, what was Sylvester Stallone thinking? First of all, even though you get to see some great landscape of Louisiana, most of the locals were displayed as some ignorant white-trash which was borderline offensive. Then, if the undercover cop wanted to lay low, why did he stay in Louisiana? Then, it was also rather ridiculous that the guy would keep some classified files in his basement. Concerning the cast, I was rather bewildered by the fact that James Franco would show up in something like that, especially to play such a boring meth-cooking loser. Concerning Jason Statham, well, at this point, I'm not sure if you can still call him an actor since he plays every single character always the same way. The only difference here was that he was wearing a pet the whole duration. Anyway, to conclude, the damned thing turned out to be seriously weak and I don't think it is really worth a look, except maybe if you are a die-hard fan of Jason Statham's work.

I admire Jason Stathan. He is not made for the Oscars, Golden Globes or any awards but still he's unstoppable. He is the only kinda surviving and serving in cinema successfully. When it comes to the commercial cinemas anyone can easily pick this mans movies to watch any given day. It is guaranteed entertainment. I always wanted to praise him for his contribution to the commercial cinemas who made stabilize over the recent fast growing graphic-cum-commercials.

The Story of this movie was not freshly squeezed. You can find similarities with other movies. Not the whole movie, part by part from different movies. After seeing the opening scene I thought it is better to call it a sequel to 'A History of Violence'. But the story started to take turns for every 20 minutes. It is a nicely arranged pieces and kept very simple as possible.

I am glad that Sylvester Stallone Invested to make this movie with Jason Statham and James Franco. Looks like Statham and Stallone sharing a good friendship after working together for 'The Expedibles' movies. I still unable to recognise James Franco as a tough man, for me he's a chocolate hero. Undoubtedly he was awesome in this film, but I love to see him in a beautiful romantic movie near future.

It was a decent movie, but the stunts were not good enough as we expect from Statham movie. According to the story, it was well achieved. More dramatised crime-thriller than an action. That can draw attention to a family audience, but drug scenes in the movie are what repels them away. Everything is not that strong, still it is rated R. Whatever they say it's a treat to watch if you are a Statham fan.

Homefront review

I am a sucker for Jason Statham movies. I also enjoy seeing James Franco's films as well. This has both of them! It is also nice to see Winona Ryder finally joining back into Hollywood again. Where has she been all this time. Kate Bosworth, Clancy Brown, Frank Grillo, and Rachelle Lafevre are also in this. This was apparently written by Sylvester Stallone! What? I didn't know that until I started writing this review. Anyways I thought it was a nice spin on James Franco's acting as he usually plays best friends or good guys. I thought the little girl was a pretty good actress for her first big screen movie. There wasn't a whole lot of plot to this, but it does keep you interested with some cool fight scenes and decent acting. If you are a Jason Statham junkie check it out. You won't be disappointed.
