“To be honest, I wasn’t really interested in this movie but since it had been added in the ‘1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die’ list, I thought I might as well check it out. At first, the whole thing seemed to be a rather misguided passion project of Hugh Jackman (it took the guy apparently about 10 years to get this movie made) but, surprisingly, it turned out to be a success at the box-office which was something really unexpected from an original musical like this one. Well, it took me a while to get into this flick and, during the first scenes, I was pretty sure it wouldn’t work for me since I’m not a huge fan of such musicals. And, yet, I have to admit that it slowly won me over. Indeed, Hugh Jackman was basically born to play this part and some of the tunes were pretty c” read more
"Majestuosidad es lo que mejor puede describir esta película, realmente no puedo decir mucho pues ella por si misma cautiva y deja en silencio para que solo la sientas mas allá de verla y analizarla, realmente intensa. "
"Eşi Charity ve 2 küçük kızıyla sıradan bir hayat yaşayan P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), ailesine daha müreffeh bir hayat yaşatamamanın verdiği üzüntüyü her gün hissetmektedir. " DVD- 1hr. 45min. First Viewing The Greatest Showman is a, often, lovely spectacle to behold, but hollow where it counts. The costumes, production design, etc.; this is a pretty movie to look at, and the camerawork dazzles at time. That said, the music can be hit or miss, with some numbers trying patience, and a couple (like the opening number and "This is Me") point to a better film. The direction, like the numbers, comes alive at times, but is utterly pedestrian in others. The real dagger thou"
"A simply fantastic musical with a tremendous feel-good factor and a soundtrack to die for with songs that are very catchy and stay in your head. The story is loosely based on the life of P.T Barnum who was a showman that loved entertaining people. Everything from the incredible toe-tapping music, awesome choreography to the dream filled storyline was great. I was totally immersed in it all. Hugh Jackman is perfect in the leading role of Barnum with a supporting cast that compliments him nicely. "
