" Date: 12/7/2019 Viewed: Shudder First Viewing Note: I wanted to check out this movie for the last few years now after hearing about it back in 2016. Three years later, I finally got the chance to watch this movie and I really like it. I love how the dark and twisted the story was. Every moment in this movie had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I also love the dark and gritty atmosphere that this movie has. The cinematography is wonderful to look at and it really helps capture"

" Watched October 31st Rating: Streamed on Netflix I didn't realize The Wailing was a horror film for a long time, even though I've seen it pop up on netflix for ages. I'm glad I finally saw someone mention it in relation to zombies, otherwise I might have skipped it over again. What a good movie! I love how some east Asian films there is a sense of humor and fun through even their most dramatic or horrific movies and this one had a lot of the same. It took its time to build itself up in a way"
"Na Hong-jin’s The Wailing is a work of thriller maximal-ism, thriving on genre crosspollination and tonal hyperbole, particularly a destabilizing contrast of broad comedy with ultraviolent portentousness. "Eric Tsang's new career as a Korean police officer doesn't quit pan out but his spirits will not be broken even with a knife sticking out of his chest."
"11.12, PC Hitusen ylipitkä ja alkuun liikaa jarrutteleva, mutta muuten kiinnostava tarina poliisista ja kylässä leviävästä sairaudesta. Mystinen ilmapiiri ja juonenkäänteet toimivat, eikä näyttelyssäkään ole mitään vikaa."
"This starts out slowly but then gets better and better. I've been meaning to watch this again and with better understanding of the Korean mythology/lore (I read about it after seeing the film first time)."
