Godzilla vs. Kong update feed
" As a lifelong fan of the original King Kong Vs Godzilla movie from way back in 1962, my first response after watching this 2021 reboot/update was F#CK YEAH!! In my humble opinion, THIS is why they first began making kaiju movies in the first place, so many decades ago. So that eventually, our technology at making movies would get so advanced that it would eventuall reach the point of seeing big bombastic city-leveling clashes like this one in highly defined, super-realistic detail. " When it comes to giant monster cinema, it's a pretty well accepted notion that the star of that subgenre is gonna be Godzilla. While King King will always come in at a close second, the truth is, Godzilla is the most well known around the globe when the subject of behemoth beasties comes up. And being that they are the two most famous of all oversized cryptid creatures in the motion picture industry, it was inevitable that the two would eventually meet. In 1962, the stars required to make suc"
“Let's be honest. Historically, Godzilla movies are pretty awful cheesefests that are mostly beloved by people that grew up on them. I get it. Me? I prefer my Godzilla to be ominous which is why I've always leaned on the original, the 1985 "remake", and, recently, Shin Godzilla. They took the material seriously and still provided monstrous antics.
That being said, the Monsterverse that started with the American 2014 version of Godzilla (then followed through with Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of Monsters) was a series that provided a nice balance between the serious and the over the top monster madness of old. I dug them all, though at diminishing levels, respectively. Nevertheless, any that enjoyed them (or didn't) knew that it was all coming to a head as the two iconic t” read more
" As anyone can see from this list, King Kong made his debut way back in 1933 by smashing his way outta film screens everywhere. Then, later, in 1954, Godzilla was introduced to the world by Toho Studios over in Japan. Since then, the two towering terrors collectively have been considered the “Kings” when it came to giant monster movies. And in all that time, we hardcore fans wanted to witness a cataclysmic clash between the two colossal cryptid creatures. And yeah, yeah, I know… th"
“To be honest, I really didn’t care much about ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ and, back then, I swore I was pretty much done with this franchise and, yet, I still ended up watching this new installment in the movie theater. First of all, Nick, my step-son, really likes this kind of movies involving some huge monsters. Then, our priority was actually ‘Black Widow’ but it will be released only next month. Anyway, I thought it was pretty glorious to go back to the movie theater with my buddy after 8 long months because of the Corona pandemic and I’m glad we went to see something spectacular. However, to be honest, I still didn’t care much for the story and I still believe that these movies take themselves way too seriously but I can’t deny that it was pretty awesome to see th” read more

"First viewing - Apr. 3rd The kiddo and I headed to the drive-in to catch Godzilla Vs. Kong on the big screen because of course. We both had a good time with it. The fight scenes made it very worthwhile and I was pleased and satisfied with them. The human side of things could be better, but that tends to be the case with these films. I may not have cared about most of the human characters, but I'll give them credit for casting strong actors in most of the roles to help me feel better about the l"
"Turns out when you title a movie with an immediate, understandable dilemma, then you shape your movie around that dilemma to deal with it to a definitive conclusion, your movie can be pretty damn fulfilling and fun. "
"Broken Image Link Date: 4/1/2021 Viewed: In theaters First Viewing Note: After waiting so many years to see another crossover fight between these two legendary movie monsters, it was worth it. I was worried that Adam Wingard (the director) was going to screw it up because the guy's track record is not the best. To my surprise, I had so much fun watching Godzilla vs. Kong in a movie theater. Watching Godzilla vs. Kong brought back that movie magic that I missed ever since the pandemic starte"
