" Notes: Honestly, I find it rather difficult to judge this movie. Indeed, it is almost 60 years old and after watching 100s of more modern SF features like '2001: A Space Odissey ', 'Prometheus' or 'Interstellar' which had access to some more advanced technology and had some much bigger budgets, the whole thing looked pretty cheesy. On top of that, from the moment you see Leslie Nielsen showing up on the screen, you expect him to crack up some stupid jokes every 5 minutes. And yet, we shouldn't"

"Sci-fi classic based on The Tempest with Walter Pidgeon as an eccentric old scientist held up on a planet with his daughter and a robot, when a crew come to investigate why there has been radio silence. A film that uses its technicolour impressively. A little wordy for most sci-fi fans but regarded by many as one of the best of the genre. Interesting to see a young Leslie Nielsen playing it straight. "
