The Blackcoat's Daughter update feed
"First viewing - March 8th This was interesting...I wasn't sure what to expect, but after seeing Oz Perkins's previous film I Am the Pretty Thing... I was curious to see whether this was worthwhile. I didn't love that film, and this was his debut so my expectations weren't high at all. As such I thought this kinda worked. The first hour or so you're waiting for something to happen, and then the last half hour delivers plenty of action. The cast is solid, and the film really takes its time with d"
"Nice slow burn horror/thriller with really nice score. The acting was good as was the mood of the film. Oz Perkins directed this and I really didn't like his Netflix film I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House that was released before this even thought this is his first film. That film was almost torturously boring watching experience. This wasn't that scary but the unsettling mood was great with the score adding to it nicely."

" DVD- 1hr. 34min. First Viewing I wasn't expecting much from The Blackcoat's Daughter; I didn't particularly like Oz Perkins previous picture I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, as it was too focused on mood rather than storytelling. While that is, somewhat, the same case, he's able to use the mood and visuals to accentuate the story, rather than telling. Daughter is an expertly crafted psychological-horror film with an excellent cast and twisty, well-executed story. Sure, most of it "
"Has a good atmosphere, but that's about it, in this boring and repetitive psychological horror outing. 4.9/10"
"When: September 26th-27th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: DVD from the library. What'd I Think?: Good atmosphere, poor pacing, lacks identity. My Rating: 5/10 Other Notes: NA."
