“I wasn't sure what to expect from this flick but since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. First of all, to be honest, I have never been a huge fan of the Eurovision but I have to admit that I have actually seen it many times with my wife (in fact, almost every year since we have been together) so I have a decent knowledge of this competition. Well, anyway, it turned out to be a rather weird movie. Indeed, basically, they tried to make at the same time a parody (with Will Ferrell playing the lead, you shouldn't expect anything else) but also a love letter to the song competition (apparently, Ferrell has been a fan for many years and this movie has been a passion project for him) so there was this rather awkward balance that never really worked. “I like the soundtrack more than the movie. However; cant go wrong with Rachel McAdams! Loved her since The Hot Chick and Mean Girls. Now as for Will Ferrell... I dont find him funny at all, he's a great comedian for the most part, but in general... I dont like him. And in Eurovision; its still the same.
I wasnt planning on watching this movie until I seent a mini clip on Instagram promoting the movie, so I then sat and watched this 2 hour film, and... like I said; soundtrack is so fun to listen to!
The main things I disliked about this film was:
1: Graham Norton; could make do without his bullshit ass comments, like shut up dude.
2: Will (who's American) attacking 4 white USA teens. References bout drugs and Fortnite? What script writer came up with ” read more
