" DVD- 1hr. 59min. First Viewing Crimson Peak is as visually lush as any other del Toro film, but the story could've used a bit of work. The plot plays out (almost) as expected, with very little deviation, excitement and/or momentum. The characters are pretty underdeveloped as well; only Chastain really gets a chance to shine in her role (though there's not a lot of development to it), though Wasikowska and Hiddleston are decent.
