(OK) Un relojito de almodovarismo, melodrama puro con arrebatos de pasión, perosnajes que se explica y hasta dicen lo que no hicieron, incecencia e ingenuidad con eficacia total; el héroe es un hijo del transporte de Madrid, la ciudad y muchas cosas habitan en él...

It has been a while since I have seen this flick and I should probably re-watch it at some point. By now, I have seen more than half of the movies directed by Pedro Almodóvar and, to be honest, even though I have a lot of respect for his work, I must confess I’m not a huge fan and I have usually a hard time to connect with his movies. There are some exceptions though and this movie is definitely one of them. In fact, it is not even one of the most famous movies directed by Almodóvar but it is actually one of my favorites. I mean, sure, as usual with this director, the whole thing was rather over the top but, this time, it didn't bother me at all. Indeed, I thought that the story worked very well, all the actors involved delivered some solid performances and, above all, I was for once able to connect with these characters. After this, Almodóvar would come up with ‘Todo sobre mi madre’ which would turn out to be one of his biggest critical successes but, personally, I preferred this lesser known feature. Anyway, to conclude, I really liked this movie a lot and it is definitely worth a look especially if you are interested in Pedro Almodóvar's work.
