Teknisesti tämä hyökkäyksen keskelle joutuvasta vankienkuljetusautosta kertova toimintajännäri ei ole kovin kummoinen ja varsinaisten toimintakohtausten puolesta välillä jopa huono, ja tarinapuolesta jaksaa kiinnostua vain siinä tapahtuvien käänteiden ansiosta. Varhaisessa teini-iässä Serranon perhettä katselleena kaikki espanjankielinen meuhkaaminen elokuvissa jaksaa kuitenkin aina lämmittää mieltä ja hymyilyttää, vaikka Below Zero vakavamielisyyteen pyrkiikin."
