"Comica divisa in due parti. Nella prima Charlot si spaccia per il pretendenete che il padre ha designato per la sua bella: molto vaudeville e teatrale, ma tutto sommato divertente nella scena della cena. La seconda invece è costituita da un lungo inseguimento in macchina perchè il vagabondo rapisce la ragazza e scappa: ripetitivo, finisce per annoiare malgrado si possa dare un'occhiata a una periferia di San Francisco ancora in fieri."
